The Stalk Market is a hyper-local food share aggregator, sourcing veggie shares, meat shares, and other bundled goods & services to offer bulk discount pricing. We offer convenient storage of your full share, with local delivery for portions of your share throughout the season when you choose to claim them.
The Community Contribution is a one-time new member contribution that is pooled for shared community food hub needs - such as freezers, shelves, walk-in coolers, etc. This infrastructure is shared between Stewards, Nodes, and Members. It is not used for operations.
We will work with you to arrange a pickup location (either at Nude Foods Boulder or Yellow Barn Farm). But please note - this is an exception we will make for a select few, as we try very hard to mitigate order errors by delivering direct to door AND it allows us to pick up your food scraps to bring back to the farm for compost & feeding pigs.

A share - whether a beef, pork, lamb, or veggie share - is a mix of cuts or veggies. Meat butcher boxes have a great range of cuts from ground, ribeyes, steaks, and value-added cuts like sausage, bacon, etc.
Veggie shares will be a mix of seasonal veggies!
We work directly with our local regenerative farmers to get their pricing from them, with a 72/14/14 split.

The Stewards set their prices and receive 72%, the Node (i.e Yellow Barn) receives 14% for hosting infrastructure, and the Stalk Market receives 14% for platform, onboarding and payment processing.

Together, we all share the burden of marketing, storage, distribution, and customer service, while Stewards can focus on the Land. Pricing for members is typically less than open market prices (for regenerative, local, and grass-fed/grass-finished)
We are looking for members of the community who are rooted and wanting to invest in community resilience. This is a long-term investment, and takes cooperation, belief, and patience.

This is a hyper-local PRIVATE marketplace for members who are looking to invest in their health, support their local Stewards, and have a long-term horizon outlook when putting their capital to work.

However, while we like to use these financial terms to draw parallels between the stock market and the Stalk Market, none of the financial terms should be misconstrued as actual investments that hold equity, ownership, or act as financial advice.
An initial contribution from a new Member that goes towards project start-up infrastructure (bins, coolers, fridges, containers, etc).
A large financial sum put towards a bundle of goods/services that improves personal health, betters local soil & ecology, and supports community resilience.
A claim on a certain amount of goods/services at a fixed cost, provided by a local Steward.
A portion of a share that can be claimed any time throughout the year, with a max claim amount of 4 units.
